    @John Sayer
    That turned out very well and the money shot confirms a successful operational fettle. Well done.
    This is the X246B and be careful not to over pressurise the fount (tank). These are prone to bulging the base if one pumps them up too enthusiastically.
    Enjoy
    Cheers

    Looking good! Nice and bright too.

    The Glass Globe on your lamp looks like a deep one... I may be wrong of course, because of the lamp being a late model, and someone on here will know for sure, but if it is, then its a bit rare, so you may want to mothball it for an earlier lamp if you get one.

    I've done that so many times! So often I've seen a tatty lamp and when it turned up it was worth saving!

    Nice Fettle!

    What an interesting observation. I have so much to learn. I had a spare glass and compared them, I had never realised there was a difference. I've swapped them over and taken your advice and mothballed the rare one.

    Not that rare really as I found out a few months back asking the same question but does belong to an earlier lamp, these deep dish globes sell for 4 - £5 more than a standard 171
