@Buckaroo Nice looking Coleman shining there with another getting the treatment. Autosol is good stuff, have you tried “Mother’s”? Cheers Pete
To be fair @Matthew92, the Port should be called, “mediocre Port you know you’ll buy for the novelty of the name”. It’s actually an empty bottle I keep on my workbench. I picked it up from a million-acre cattle station in the Northern Territory. Haven’t tried Mother’s @AussiePete , hows it stack up against Autosol? (Which I haven’t yet used to polish my teeth @Jean J - maybe they’d be whiter if I did? ) @ColinG - yes, 1972 639, made in Canada. It’s my favourite. I even have the box.
I hate to say it @Levi Tomey, but the 639 came from eBay. Actually got it at a reasonable price - I normally moan about eBay pricing but every now and again a good deal can be had.
In the short time I've been collecting I'd say it's a combination of perseverance, casting your net as wide as possible and luck. Sometimes you're looking for a specific model when an unexpected gem turns up completely different from what you expected. The nicest lanterns I've got were all down to random chance. Play a long game and you'll win.
@Buckaroo I have both Autosol and Mother’s and both work very well. I tend to use Mothers more than the Autosol, it’s a matter of choice but I feel it gives a finer shine ..... maybe just a perception on my part, but hey, I like “Tooheys Old” beer too, for that internal shine ..... if you get my meaning. Cheers Pete
