My lamp has stood on my garage shelf for 20 years (for want of knowing what to do with it) and it was a garage sale item when I bought it.
But now, with enthusiasm and guidance from this forum it has now started shining again. My thanks to all concerned.
The first pic was taken about 10:00 yesterday morning just to prove that it would light, and the second pic was taken about 10:00 last night to show how it would really work.

The next one won't take as long, once you've got one lit it needs a companion then all hell breaks loose.

Well done, she’s looking and running well. These X246 Guardsman lanterns are very good and will give you years of service.
Now it’s time to get it a mate.

@Ian Roll Well fettled Ian, another old Tilley lives. As has been mentioned above by others, these are great robust lamps that give fuss free service.
They will breed, enjoy the ride!
