    I was lucky enough to purchase this recently, they don’t come up very often in fact I think this was the first time I have had such opportunity.The chrome is a bit thrashed in places and the burner is missing one of the air vent screws, easily fixed with a bit of polish and an air vent screw from another Tilley (not the same but stops the burner rattling) just having a little play with it at the moment before I enter full fettle mode. It’s marked 1159 underneath do I would assume November 1959?

    Well done in finding her, and, your preheater is operational too! In most cases the preheater has been buggered or removed.
    This will be a good fettling project and she’s going to look and run well.
    Have fun on the fettle.
    Cheers
    Pete

    Very cool
    @Gary Waller
    You are lucky to have the preheater that is working. A tip for your fettle, don't play around with your preheater, if its not broken dont pull it apart. There are threads posted on site if you want to see how it works or looks.
    Great project lantern, hrs of fun
