Optimus 300, last piece to finish the fettle arrived today. Thought I'd done all the jobs on it, so in my mind the last task was fitting the fuel gauge glass that the postman kindly dropped off this morning. However the lantern thought otherwise. Ended up fitting a new pump leather, and adjusting the needle height on the control rod which kept me entertained for a while. Anyway, here it is. Enjoyed the fettle, it is a well constructed, solid lantern that kicks out loads of light. Love the fuel gauge! I couldn't resist adding more light to the affair. Great light up. Imagine having guests arriving at your door and being greeted by those 2 lanterns at either side. Magical reception...
