    I will post this Kayen AP2 lantern in the Reference Gallery. It is from Jim Dicks collection and is quite special.

    I thought I should light it first, though.

    Very pretty. And great photography. I do like the very simple lines of it.

    Not a lot to distinguish my steel-font Tilley EX100 from it Tony. I see from your restoration posts you’ve to look for the details in components to say ‘Tilley’ or ‘Kayen’.

    @presscall

    The Kayen AP2 is a copy of the Tilley EX100. Nettlefold Kayens have different tanks to Kopsen Kayens; other components are not-exact-copies of Tilley parts; and often you get a mix of Tilley and Kayen parts.

    When I post this in the Reference Gallery I’ll show the detail.

    You are quite right there @Tony, in respect of the small Tilley/Kayen differences. I fought a battle repairing a Kayen AP2 burner. Each step I thought I had won and another problem arose. Ended with an injector tube from a Tilley Service Pack that would have solved the last issue but turned out that it was not the same size diameter as the Kayen and no way would it thread in. ](*,)
