    Tom. The lamp is model BR49A and it should have a pump with a male thread. The pump for any Guardsman X246 or 246A lantern will fit and work. You may find the instructions of some use. ::Neil::

    Tom. A certain member on the same page here will confirm that I have a good stock of complete and part pumps and I’m sure I could fit you out. Just say the word.

    Just unscrew the cage and bung it in the dishwasher, the hood, try and find a better one on a lamp and swap it

    @TOM JAMES CALDWELL

    Hi and welcome to the forum.

    @Jean J a little bit early in my opinion but will certainly fit and do the job well. Generally most of the X246A and BR49A models have a pump more akin to the aluminium style pump on the later B’s. See @BigStevie post here: BR49A

    I await correction.

    Regards Jeremy

    Tom has found the pump off his lamp so I now have two refurbished pumps off Tilley Guardsman lamps, if anyone wants them?

    Assuming you're reffering to the inside of the tank, basically any thinners which will remove varnish work well, some folks use acetone, some use a cleaner degreaser (as used by mechanics for cleaning engine parts).

    Mmm, yes, well. Type Painting hoods in the search bar @ top right of this page.
