Hello, What I have is a Preway lantern or Sears, but it is missing the manufacturer name plate so I don't know if this was Sears or Preway. The lantern is in very good condition for it's age. The mica globe is in fair to bad condition depending on which side of the mica you are looking at but sense I'm not a purist I'm thinking of using a 220 glass globe which will fit nicely and try my luck at drilling a lighting hole. With my first firing of this lantern I noticed there was a halo around the mantle so I did some experimenting and found that the gas tip from a Coleman 200 screws into the original vaporizer tube and with this done I relighted the lantern with very good results. t The paint on the fount is in fair condition and one of these days when I get some more experience with painting I will repaint the fount. The hood or vent is in pristine shape with no chips. The original vent nut is missing but I found a nut with the right thread pattern. Cheers, Norman
@Norman A handsome looking lantern Norman. I applaud your ingenuity in matching component thread patterns. Is it the glazing of the mica globe that’s ropey or the glazing strips too? Cutting new panels out of mica sheet with scissors is no big deal. John
Nice looking bomber, you can order some mica and cut some panels. Mica frame is in very good shape and sliding door works as it should. Please don’t let her go again, I did because I needed to fund some other lanterns. Glad she is in good hands!
Thank you gents for your kink comments. @presscall It is just the mica that's in bad shape. The strips seem to be in good shape. I will see what I can do to salvage the original mica.

@Norman You can use a Coleman generator 220E5891, 220's generators are a direct fit on these lanterns. The one on it is asbestos and is old and maybe the tip was a bit oversized, this lanterns tend to work better after burning for a few minutes while the cast burner get hot enough to help with the combustion. The vent nut is from a Turner single mantle propane lantern.
Hello there folks, I decided to take @Pancholoco1911 up on his suggestion about doing a direct replacement with a 220 generator and it did work out quite well but there was quite a bit of flame outside the mantle but this improved over time. You can see the flame outside of the mantle in these pictures. The mantles I'm using for now are Chinese mantle which have proven to be quite durable and bright, but these mantles tend to have quite the halo for about an hour before the halo disappears. Now it is running quite well indeed. It is light outside right now so it doesn't show it's self off very well in the sunlight but you can see it is running good. There was a bit of soot on the inside of the hood above the burner assembly and now it is gone so using the 220 generator instead of the 200 is the way to go. Granted the lantern ran very good with the 200 conversion. @Pancholoco1911 thank you for giving me the suggestion. Cheers, Norman
I have this same latrine. Printess-Wabler L46S,, AKA Sears 742-461, Pick it up at a yard sale for less then 5$. It has served us well at the cabin for a few years now. This is a great table Lamp for the cabin, and at 7# will not tip easy, I now need a new pump cup so I am looking for one. Bob
