Part of my lamp hobby is to service lamps for people.
Yesterday, these were delivered to me for servicing and/or preparation for first use.

8x Petromax 829 Rapid and 11x Petromax 830 150cp, all brass and unused.

Not often seen together in such numbers.

Wo! That will keep you busy. They look like new stock.

    Cheers

Yes, @Tony Press , they are mostly unused but have been sitting around for a few years.
They were not assembled very well in the factory, e.g. completely loose jets, poorly adjusted conducting rod length, etc.
I will have to give them all a decent inpection to catch those issues before lighting them up.
They are destined for use at the chalets of a game lodge in South Africa.

I would be amenable to accepting one or two of the 830's as payment for my labour ;)

The 830 model today is made in Asia. There was an 830 model Px made in Germany but that was, I believe back in the 1930's. They were all brass and had a "large tank"! Hard as the hell to find now!

These are all modern Hong Kong made lanterns. I was told they came to South Africa from Germany by way of the UK.
