    Hi all
    My wife bought me this lamp for my birthday this week. At first I thought it was an M320 but the frame is different, I have searched the reference gallery and I’m not actually sure what it is?
    It appears to be a 315 tank, frame and control cock. But obviously it is chromed. The red control cock looks out of place, especially as it has a black pump knob..
    Is this a bitza or could it have been an export model?

    @Gary Waller

    Looks like the chromed Vapalux 320 shown on P48 of Ian Ashton’s book.

    It looks even more like the chrome Bialaddin 315 shown on page 41...

    I'd agree with David, 315, but with a red control knob and black plastic pump end? I guess we could put this down to the interchangeable parts and past cleaning/fettling of a previous owner who possibly wasn't too concerned about correctness.

    @BigStevie i thought 320 at first, but I think @David Shouksmith @paparazi are correct.
    I didn’t realise they ever did a chrome 315 but yes this is mentioned in Ian’s book, “or black on some of the chrome versions”
    It’s pleasing to know that it could have some originality about it, as parts do become interchanged so easily.
    Cheers guys.

    That lantern was never a 320 - they have the globe cage attachment similar to Tilley X246B where it's held onto the tank by a single central screw collar.

    Prior to that, Vapalux and Bialaddins had the globe cage attached by three screws into the top of the tank with different methods to allow adjustment - on the 315, three curved slots to allow the cage to me moved around into the most suitable position with regard to the jet cleaner shaft...
