I've had this lantern, or rather a collection of bits and pieces for quite a while now but never quite the right bits! Thanks to a donation from a fellow member, it all came together today. I still need a globe and a bail but it functions! Thanks also to Norman for the original 350! If anyone could take a photo of a 350 bail straight on so I can copy it, I'd be extremely grateful.
I've got three or four of these in the garage and one should have a handle i think so if you need it sending to you to make a copy let me know.
It's working well and if you find any Solar 500 cp., lantern glasses, then they also fit the Veritas 350.
...and @MG that could be very useful indeed! It's always easier to copy something if you have the original to hand!

So... it's finally complete! Thanks @paul m for the globe and bail, @Norman for the frame and hood and @X246A aka Jeremy for the fount. This was by far the longest, most drawn out fettle I've attempted so far and involved plenty of workshop shenanigans and loads of bits and pieces but it's totally worth it! Now all I need is a P9955!
@ColinG Hi Colin, Your 350 is running very well indeed. I decided to light up my 350 and before the preheat was done the mantle was already glowing so I opened up the control valve and away she went. Cheers, Norman

It looks good Colin, working well. I have one of these in the shed but never got around to trying to sort it out.
Thanks everyone, it's a nice looking lantern and it works well..... but there's one slight problem... well, not than minor really! Someone in the past has over-tightened the NRV and messed up the female (fount side) thread so it's now impossible to stop it leaking - why oh why do people do dumb stuff!? Anyway, I'm going to use epoxy as a thread sealer. It should work and if I need to remove it in the future, a sharp tap on my removal tool will break the seal. Wish me luck!
@ColinG Very cool lantern you have. There is probly not much more you can do with the NRV. Big long peerless mantles Long pre heat Hours of Veritas fun
@ColinG ...Sorry if i'm not up to speed but isn't this a different one to the first one that has a plated top? Also you said you had solved the nrv issue with one from a stove? Have i missed something or did i just fall asleep?
This is a different one... and the problem is, the internal thread has been damaged so new even a NRV ends up turning round and round and won't seal properly.
