I've had these boxes from petromax for ages but could never understand the top handles. See what i mean…

I have here installed a flush handle fitted on the right box.

Before, there is no way to stack the lamp on the box safely.

I probably have got nothing better to do while waiting for stuff to arrive and the wait of de-rusting is killing me

Nice job, it looks like it works much better now you have the flush handle on it.

These boxes where made by a German collector a few years ago.
Combination of storage and be able to look at your lanterns (clear front piece) and transportation.
They where never intended for petromax lanterns only.

It is always nice to see what people make for lanterns on the move or storage.

The most useful saw i do not own, a table saw..
A family of 1900s Stanley planes.

However, installing the flush handle, just used an oscillating tool saw :-({|=

Wow! Are you a Woodworker by profession? Or you just happened to be fond of woodworking tools? Most of my woodworking tools and stuffs perished some years ago in a fire(not pressure lamp related). A mitre saw, sets of various handsaws, chisels, planes, sharpening jigs and tools, auger and flat-bladed drill bits, a router and bit sets, mallets, sanders, varnishes, etc. among them. The table saw survived somehow.

I don't see myself as a woodworker @MYN , more of somebody who repairs Erhus as a hobby.
I had built one box for a 150cp with that paulownia wood but sold it.. I didn't build another one after that.
