These four pieces turned up yesterday, it was the conversion lamp I was after. Has to buy all four to do the deal....
Excellent finds, I'm sure your to do list is starting to get very large now. So do you have a few years of spare time yet?
Nice find Steve, I bet you was gutted to have to buy the other 3 just to get the conversation? Like you, my project pile is getting out of hand, I'll probably have to off load some soon as the wife keeps giving me funny looks whenever I bring something new home !!
Steve, sooner or later any collector has to buy 'big' in order to get that one thing 'small'. It also explains that quite a few collectors, coërced by wife or not, turn into sellers. So, looking forward to meet you at the 'Bay? Mike
My first blue Bretby vase came in a lot of 10 boxes of absolute rubbish. And I had to pay £22 to get them!
A quick 'Bretby' peek on Google explains to me why you went all through that trouble Jean. Isn't it a thrill to discover these hidden gems? In a similar vein I got my Primus 43, many, many years ago. Mike
@Jean J What? £22! Did it make you feel faint? @Keith Warby @M.Meijer Not really got in to selling, though have done a fair bit of swapping. There are a couple of unfired M320s that’ll get sold before Christmas...
A few years ago I bought a box of rubbish at a fair but I knew it contained a CS56,fully working and it cost £8. Still haven't got the rest of the box sorted so heaven knows what else may be in it - retirement project #856 !!
I was just lucky to be in the right place at the right moment, yesterday 1 sold on ebay for £275 which prompted my wife's chorus of 'why don't you sell that thing of yours then'
Beautiful George and an excellent job, however, I can't understand the need to spoil the lamp with the ugly and pointless transfer for the sake of authenticity..my opinion but boy, you have done a really nice job.
