Hi all, A beautiful NOS exemple of a French Menelux 1450 candles lantern. It is interesting to not that the lower part of the cage and the cap are made of stainless steel. On the glass it is noted "special glass made in France". The three interlaced cressants are the symbol of the city Bordeaux in France. The thicknes of glass it's one milimeter. It is fitted with a typical "Petromax" domino style rapid burner in red anodized aluminium and the traditional loop generator for kerosene lantern. I notice that this one in the same style as that of Reinhard but there are manufacturing differences visible on the pictures. Apart from that this lamp carrie an authentic originality in a single and solid construction in brass and stainless steel only the four arms and the upper circle of the cage are in nickel-plated steel. Machinig traces are visible on different elements. Like im, i don't know more about this mysterious "modern" French lantern probaly from the late 50s or 60s. On this lamp, the visual defects are due to the nickel-plated and the light no dents. I think it was made in a small company without any proof from me ! Thank you for sharing. Regards, Titoo.
@Titoo Fascinating Now you have really succeeded in finding a Menelux. It looks exclusive and stylish at the same time. I think they have 250 cp. Regards Reinhard
That's just lantern preciousness. That is one I could not bring myself to use , its just for staring at and being in love. lol
@Titoo That is lovely, I do like the 1950's style Petromax pre-heat leaver, but with the red switch. Looks soooo good. Well nice, thank you for sharing.
Hi guys, Thank you for your interest ! Reinhard, I think like you for the power of this lamp. A ceramic nozzle similar for Optimus N°200 or Petromax N°827 is screwed on without any problem. A ceramic nozzle 350 or 500 does not screwed on. The mixing tube and nozzle space of 11,20 mm for good runing this Menlux. Space 11,20 mm is exactly for Optimus 200, 1200, Petromax 827, Hipolito 250....... Look the comparision pictures.
