The First Coleman match lighting “Air O Lite Quick-Lite” Lamp designated as “Q” Lamp came first with the M shape turban fount in 1916, then early 1917 with a new C fount before officially changing to the “CQ” designation later that same year. Thank you all, for the very nice comments.

The opal no. 307 Coleman shade shown was the standard for both “Q” lamp versions, although any Coleman shade of the era was available for paying the price difference between the two.
    Effective. July 1 1916.

    Available shades were :
    Opal no. 307
    Green no. 307
    no. 314 A,B,C,D,E,F
    no. 317
    no. 318
    no. 321
with bug screens no. 321 1/2,
    no. 322,
    no. 324

Matt, I’m not a shade authority, I think this image you show is not labeled correctly, it should be designated an A314D that shade number is listed above.

    Larry,

What I know about shades would fit on the tip of a needle. I can only go by what I read or see in catalogues or advertisements. If you say Coleman have made a mistake in this 1916 ad, I believe you.
