A second AP2 came my way last week, the remains of the Nettlefold sticker on the base is nice to see. It’ll have to wait for a teardrop globe, the one I had destined for it took an unscheduled flight and did a hard landing on the kitchen floor!
@BigStevie Very nice indeed your on a roll buddy, so how many Kayen lamps do you have now? The brass looks great have you polished it yourself, or did it come that way?
@Buggerlugs That’s two now, who would have thought that another would turn up so soon this side of the world? I’d like to say I’d done the polishing, but it came more or less as you see it. It’ll get lit sometime this week for the money shot.
@BigStevie you have my sympathy with the unscheduled flight, had a similar experience this week as well. A tad frustrating........ Nice lantern BTW
@BigStevie Nice looking AP2, well found. I hate it too when the globes take unscheduled flights with the inevitable crash landing. Cheers Pete
What really irritated me about the globe was that I’d just bought the b****y thing! Knowing the Kayen was on its way I’d ordered the globe, ah well, it’s only a piece of glass.....
Oh the sound of a cracking globe, or the shattering of one, it's enough to make me cry as sometimes the globe is worth more than the lamp. But its even worse when you buy a lamp for the globe and it breaks, or you are cleaning one and it breaks, that truly sucks.
@BigStevie If you get a chance, can you photograph the burner on the AP2, please? From the bottom and through the hood will be ok for my purposes. Thanks. Tony
@Tony Press Hi Tony, this is exactly as it arrived to me... It’s got a flat topped dome. Hope this helps, Stevie
OK. Thanks. That is a Kayen burner for sure. Cheers Tony Edit: the spigot is one piece with the burner. It does not screw off.
