Found this 1972 Sears lantern this morning for $18. All the original paperwork and sales receipt inside box. Lantern sold for $35 after tax in 1974. Box is addressed to the Santa Cruz Sears which closed about a year ago. Looks like it was lit once, put back in the box and forgotten until now. Jerry

Welcome to the light side, Jerry.

Will you be posting that in the Reference Gallery?

Hi Tony and thanks! It's now in the RG. I wasn't sure it was worth doing so but after some research these are not very common. Cheers, Jerry

    Hi Tom,
It's stamped Made in the USA on the bottom. Stamping looks very similar to the way Coleman does it. Jerry

Coleman were contracted by Sears between 1964 and 1978 to provide lanterns, stoves, heaters and other camping accessories and this is a Sears Lantern produced by Coleman.

Great find Jerry, you must be very pleased.
