I reassembled and testfired this ex Dutch Army P 350 running on petrol/gasoline. So far it's working well. I'll leave the tank in brass, only the hood will see a Spectrum 800⁰C black spraypaint cover. Matthias
Hi, you say this is running on petrol/gasoline , is it set up differently to run on this fuel, I've got two running on kerosene ,both have preheat cups ,I noticed yours has a preheat cup as well, yours looks to be running very well. Regards Ian.
From the configuration of the lantern - the control valve type, the filler cap and the burner arrangement - it seems to be a petrol/gasoline/Coleman fuel version. I have a couple of lanterns designed to run on the same fuel that also need a pre-heat to start successfully without having a flaring up. Coleman lanterns running on CF that start 'instantly' have a specially designed fuel pickup arrangement that allows them to do this very well, but other makes like one of my AshFlash lanterns need a pre-heat to start smoothly without alarming flareup incidents! I agree with @AussiePete ... I really like Veritas lanterns and now have quite a few of them but they seem to be getting harder to pick up as cheaply as you could only a year ago - possibly aided by my constantly telling everyone how good they are (ably assisted by @AussiePete , @Norman and a few other recent converts!)
