Tilley SDR in action

Hi fellas this is my SDR.
I've been working on.
Its taken a bit to fettle, its been educational.
Ive had good advice from the fellas, ive followed advice, read up alot in the gallery,
Im very pleased with the out come
Dose any one know what the SDR stands for and what year of manufacture?

I have never seen a lantern with that sort of heat shield. Interesting as to the shields purpose.

 

Looking good.
The 'heat shield ' is a reflector, SDR is, I understand is for (short) (small)? Double Reflector with the much rarer (long) (large)? Double Reflector, being the LDR.

 

Like all your restorations - looks brilliant..

@Tony Press , hi Tony, apparently not, a fella on the facebook tilley group says that originally it should be black, so ordered 1 from julians, and the SDR water slide transfer just to top it of.
Its all very cool

Was that cap on it when you got the SDR? It looks like it’s from an X246.
