I was over at another member’s place yesterday helping him out with his bad case of lampelitus, including working out with him why his Coleman 249 was coughing and spluttering. Because we were fettling, no studio shots here. He was quick to point out the most unusual thing about this lantern: it does not have any tank (fount) stamping... bare as a baby’s bum. Nothing on the base plate, either. The only identification is on the collar in the one language, Australian Coleman 249 style: “No. 249 Scout/For Kerosene Only/Generator Must Be/Preheated”. All components are standard Coleman 249. It has the darker green Coleman vent, with a plated bail. Interesting... Cheers Tony
