Hello folks It has been a long while since I visited or posted here and re-establishing contact is not easy, some of you know about my mental health issues and since the pandemic I have been well and truly under their shadow. My coping mechanism has been to throw myself into work when able to do so and recluse myself away when not. The one area that holds untold fears (to my mind) is contact with friends and colleagues by any means and pretty much all telephones, forums and social media has been shunned. Anyway, this is just a brief post to let you all know I am still around and thinking of you all. Take care, stay safe and hopefully I’ll get my head sorted enough to visit and post again soon. Regards Jeremy
Hi Jeremy, @X246A I hope all gets well, a (small) comforting thought for you may be that you're not alone in this, but there is a light at the end, vaccines have finally arrived so the future brightens up a little. Take care, and stay safe, you're in our thoughts! Wim
@Wim @MYN @presscall Thanks for the your kind words. Here’s to an improving 2021 for every one. Strange, but having broken the deadlock it’s much easier (mentally) to return again. Regards Jeremy
Good on you Jeremy for having taken the plunge and I’m sure everyone here will be as happy to see you as I am.
Jeremy Glad to have you back, your absence has been noticeable. I have certainly appreciated the comments, advice and opinions you have given on some of my posts. The forum is a better place with people like you in it so please keep at it. Take care. Gary
Hi Jeremy, We have never met but your videos resulted in my very first fettle of a lamp (a Tilley 246B) and I've never stopped since, so many thanks for this. It's great to see you back on the forum, let's hope your issues are resolved soonest.
G'day Jeremy, your absence had been noticed but it's good to hear that you are still alive and kicking. Take care of yourself and hopefully you can return here where your opinions are much valued. Martin
Hi Jeremy! Keep plugging away, man, don't let this thing get to you! Remember, we are all in the same lifeboat when it comes to this mess.
Great to hear from you Jeremy and bl00dy well-done for coming on here to talk to us, that takes b@lls! This virus and the lockdowns have certainly taken their toll, that's for sure but CPL has been my go-to place to chat to friend before I go to my workshop to loose myself in as many lantern fettles and DIY projects as I can. Stay strong fella and stop by for a chat whenever you need!
@X246A Hey mate, keep the light burning...... we’re here with you. Go well mate and great to be with you again. Cheers Pete
I'm really sorry to hear about your troubles, Jeremy but I'm glad you took the first step - always the hardest one - and I hope you'll feel more and more inclined to continue posting here and resuming your valued contribution to CPL. Look after yourself, matey...
Hi Jeremy, so sorry to hear you’ve been struggling. You’re not alone. I’ve suffered with anxiety on and off all my life, and this Covid crap has made life way more difficult for me. Can’t fly or drive to Italy to see/stay with friends and family ( last time I went down was sept 2019!) and no socialising etc. I find that hobbies help a lot, I play guitar, fettle lamps, do some winter gardening... anything to get me distracted. I also take long walks around town in the evenings after work, whatever the weather. I force myself to do 3 km, even in gale force winds and driving rain. Please make sure you get support at work if you need to, and don’t be hard on yourself. Things will improve by the end of this year, I’m sure, and I can’t wait to see the next Broadlander YouTube videos!
Good to acknowledge our struggles, but not easy to do so. I have thrown myself into this hobby as a way of staying busy and having a focus outside of work through all this. I remember your posts being really helpful, so thank you!
Hi Jeremy, Good to hear from you! Your videos set me on my fettling path when I caught tilletitus, thank you for your instruction and encouragement.
Glad to see you out and about again, like I've told you before, I miss your vids on YouTube. I'm glad you are on the road to recovery brother.
Hi Jeremy, We have never met but I watched your very informative videos dozens of times before I went for the plunge and bought a Guardsman. Thanks for you help into this hobby as I now really enjoy all things paraffin now. LOL.
Hi @X246A Jeremy!! Keep those youtube "how to" videos coming, mate! They are a great source for anyone starting out in the hobby!
Thanks for all your videos on the utube Jeremy, both lamps and stoves, keep on making them. It's good to see you back here keep on hanging on and never give up !
