    Good day Gentlemen,

I have just finished fettling Primus 1081: standard job of changing jet, sealers, cleaning etc. Vaporiser tubing looks good - someone before has made good job cleaning it.

I lighted the lantern with high expectations regarding noise level - I expected silence as with 981.
To my disappointment the noise is ”standard”. Comparable to clean Optimus 200.

Do you happen to have any tips what can cause it? Or do I have too high expectations?

One area I suspect is ceramic flame spreader. This I did not replace and it has cracked beginning of the thread.
I suspect the crack can cause gas stream turbulance which makes this noise.
Do you know if there are any good points to chose stainless steel spreader, instead of standard ceramic one?

    Thanks beforehands for suggestions!

    Thank you!
I still need to fettle this lantern. It smells and is noisy as standard lantern. Probably crack in ceramic flame spreader ( is it the proper name?) is causing it.

Do you know if there are any good points to chose stainless steel spreader, instead of standard ceramic one?

@Kuman the common english term is "nozzle". I have never tried one but I would be tempted if they were not so expensive. I also see that it is possible to get brass ones as well.

I've had a stainless steel nozzle fitted on my 500hk hipolito for the last 20 years and it works fine but I still had to use exhaust paste to seal it in,
