I thought I'd share the modest few lamps that get the seal of approval by SWMBO to be on display rather than in the loft or outside in storage.

Thank you for the kind comments. The Vapalux E41 is one of the Korean made lamps. The quality is exceptional.

That explains the super tight appearance of that lamp, Robert!
With afaik no activity in Korea, you just might have a lamp that will not be produced anymore, be it Covid or simply a fading market.

I sure would like to see such a lamp one day, if only to marvel at the quality and subtle but tasty detailing perhaps only an asian culture can add. Me, I have become a happy caretaker of a Halifax E-41 in full brass, which shows me that even that lamp was made above what soon became a very well made standard Willis & Bates is known for. You lucky man Mike I looked for an age, with no luck, for an original E41. One reason in the end I decided to buy the Korean made version. However I'm glad I own one, as they are indeed made to an incredible standard. That's not to say I don't want an original.

@Robert Radcliffe keep a close eye out, you will eventually see a Korean made E41 pop up on eBay, etc - for about three or four times more than you paid! Just a matter of time...

You bet, if you're thinking of selling your Korean made E41!

Robert, I believe the bulk of english war time lamps moved from Britain through France into the Low Lands and Germany, where many gravitated.

But perhaps a considerable amount from the early productions, especially the E41, stayed behind, as they were put to use in new camps and air bases springing up all over Britain, then after the war sold off in bulk in your country.

So they should be still around, but with collecting you simply have to be lucky.
I agree with George you most likely made a good investment, and I agree with you it is a special product that I was contemplating to buy as well. I still might, but then a squeeky stainless one for contrast ;).
