Hi all first post to all interested have enjoyed researching on yoursite and would like to add for all interested photos of i believe a gloria table lamp which sows patent date of March 5 1912 Regards-- Graham P
Hi Graham, and welcome aboard! I moved the post from "Open forum" to "Mystery lamps". As soon as it has been confirmed that it's a Gloria (or anything else), it will be put in the correct reference gallery. Does it have any patent number stamped too, or is it just the date you mention? Cheers, Christer
Half a Gloria for sure because the swan neck and burner are Gloria but the tank and handle are not. I think they are Coleman or Nulite but the image is not good enough for me to be sure here. ::Neil::
Hi All, I have one here exactly the same but no patent / Gloria markings. Fount is exactly the same with wooden grip Handle. Gloria / Knight Light at this stage. Colin
Ah I should have looked at where you were located. This was found in Aus I assume. That means it is going to be all Gloria. Gloria in Aus made lamps from parts of different models and makes. This one has the tank from a Gloria/Knight Lite Sunray with an older style burner. They did odd things down there. For instance I have seen an ad for a Gloria Oxo table lamp which has a Lindemann & Hoverson tank and handle with a Gloria burner assembly. Gloria Aus lived on beyond the demise of Gloria US and made lamps from whatever they could lay hand to. Makes for some interesting combinations and this is one such. I will have to go look at all my Gloria lists and will probably end up giving this one a letter as a model number. ::Neil::
Ok I have searched the images and lists. This one was not there so it is a new model to list and it gets the next in sequence so is Gloria Model AE. I would like a better image of it please for my records so can you PT me and we can exchange email addresses and maybe you can send me a full size image. ::Neil::
Thanks Niel will take some more detailed photo,s burner does not have heater under vaporiser as some glorias and crackle paint was over whole lamp partly scubbed away on gallery by me as I mistook it for grunge-corosion it doesnt show any signs of bootmakers as in cobling. Regards ps another gloria to show soon and an al8 steel tank and pump
In that case I would like to see an image or two of the burner with the cowl removed if possible please. These odd Gloria models are difficult to catalogue as they often don't have numbers for me to refer them to. What I will have to do is fully illustate the list but for that I need good images with a light background of the whole lamps. Burner and detail images are good for record as well though. ::Neil::
