First snow this winter. Some pleasure to the kid on slope of near hill. And building a snow castle and cat. Lit by army Petromax, 2 foldable swiss candle lanterns and Coleman Powerhouse. Open for more winter lantern pics. Regs willi
Even though I’ve developped admiration for Primus and Radius lanterns - Optimus 1200 is my workhorse on any ”expedition”. Lightweight, plenty of them here and lots of accessories available. Here on ”swamp expedition” with my kid.
Wonderful winter scenes. I have been praying for snow here but nothing more than "slush" has fallen from the sky. Maybe next year...
I guess ”grass is always greener somewhere else”: we are a bit fed up with snow already. The only good thing with snow is light reflections - bright lantern is even brighter!
Winter Lamp. Not outdoor but lit indoor in my living room. Tito Landi ,Paris. incl original glass. approx 1926.
Yes, there has been some more snow and the frost continues, the wind rose a bit this afternoon and the temperature dropped even more, but the days are sunny and the sky is blue.
It doesn’t look very wintry but short of getting lots of paper doilies for snowflakes I didn’t know what else to do?
The Chrome Tilley was one of Trevor’s (Shagratork) that David very kindly sent me, but I have only recently been able to spend some time on it ... p.s. It's my cousin's garden as I don't have one
It's still dark when getting home from work, and since I slept at my girl friend and it came another inch of snow last night, I had to manually showel it away when I got home this afternoon. It is actually nice to use an old lantern when working in the dark. It gives a more all around light than a LED torch does, and this Radius 119 actually worked without problems the time I needed it to refurbish the plowed drive way, despite it's being -17C (1F). ...the battery of the camera didn't cope... Radius 119 is a real workhorse!
Hi @bp4willi .. you're welcome! I have only just noticed that you built a snow-Cat ! Great! And the castle is a good idea .. I never heard of a Swiss folding lantern either??? .. only the pen knives..
@bp4willi I like that folding lantern, complete with storage bag and candle holder. Great, I want one!
Here are some winter views of my Stuman special. It's bitterly cold this evening so I was not out for long.
