US Coleman 228B 6/36

    This 228 has an unusual metal (lead?) label attached on the base. By wetting the label it can be read 'IMPORTE DES ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE. I don't read French but I'm guessing this means imported from America.
    The previous owner contacted Terry Marsh who confirmed it was the first he'd seen.

    I've posted the lantern in several Coleman groups and to date no one has seen one but then most of them are either in the US or Canada. Interesting that you haven't seen one even in France.
