Purchased these 2 blow torches. Thought they were cool. Has anyone worked on these? One is a Little Wonder Torch no 901 for Alcohol. Paid about $43. The other is unknown brand. Had in-laws pick it up for me. Bought it on Facebook for $15.
Hi Chad.. Nice old torches The larger one may be a Turner, Cheers p.s. there are some websites specialising in Blow torches or Blow lamps... Here's one ! www.vintageblowtorches.com
Thanks! The Little Wonder torch seems relatively simple. It looks intact and solid. Any of you have tips for cleaning up brass?
@Chad Campbell Brass cleaning. 1 part wheat flour 1 part vinegar 1 part fine salt Mix together until the salt is dissolved. Apply it and wrap it in household film ^^ we call it in Danish ^^ Wait 30 minutes and unpack. Rinse with lukewarm water. Polish with Autosol. Done Tom
@Chad Campbell Hello. Are you completely sure of the little Wonder Torch driver on alcohol. I have a similar one that runs on gasoline. If it is written that it runs on alcohol, you must of course use it. Tom
Tom, I know what you are referring to. If you scroll up to the top of this thread, i posted a picture. It says For Alcohol on the side. I have seen the For Gasoline ones as well, but that's not what I have. Thanks fo the heads up and caution.
Turner is a very good starting point for blow torches of this general look. Other similar ones to your larger one include: Clayton and Lambert, Dominion and Otto Bernz. In this instance with the two grooves in the handle and the unusual little wheel, Otto Bernz is what I reckon it is. I would also urge caution as unlike MOST lanterns and stoves that operate on petrol/Coleman fuel blowlamps/blowtorches can be dodgier. I recommend studying Zangobob's website carefully, first before lighting any petrol/Coleman fuel blowlamp. Stay safe (COVID and Blowtorches! ) Iain
Picked up the larger blow torch from my in-laws. It is an Otto Bernz. Can't make out model. All the knobs seem to turn freely and are not stuck, except for the one underneath. Will take caution with this before trying to fire up. And will check out the Zangobob website.
