Can someone suggest what method/product I should use to restore the reflector to near original condition? It is generally in good shape except for some tarnish spots. IMG_3462__1552419319_66434.jpg

I have had great results using Cape Cod cloths as posted elsewhere. They have a very fine abrasive suspended in some class of oil which makes them very gentle. Even so, don't go at it with too much vigour or you risk going through the chrome.

That air intake tube should have an extension piece fitted to it take it through the oval hole in the reflector. That way, fresh air is taken in from behind the reflector as opposed to exhaust-contaminated air from in front of it:-

    Is yours definitely an R55?

I've just taken this heater down from a shelf and it's got fuel in it. That usually means it was in working order last time I used it. I wonder... :-k :)
