Is this beyond repair?

    In my opinion, it's too far gone and it's just a propane floodlight, but the tripod is worth obtaining as it could be adapted to accommodate other lamps, it all depends on the price though.

    My idea too. No glass, no burner head, holes in the chimney.
    The value is in the tripod.

    Once you have the tripod, you can make one of these to properly display your GL1. This one is not genuine Tilley, it's one I made myself, I have no idea how close it is to an original but it works.

    Thanks. I made it from pieces of steel which had been hiding under the bench. I did the measuring, cutting, bending etc., but credit for the welding goes to my brother in law.

    @Henry Plews That's very good work from you and your brother in law. There's no way I could make one of those! But I guess I should worry about finding a tripod first.

    Unless it's silly money and the seller refuses to negotiate, there's a perfectly good one in your first post provided it's still for sale.

    . . is ammunition you can use to convince the seller to lower the price.
