Well, I figured a real green one wouldn’t be joining my collection any time soon, so I’d decided to build a miniature version. The vase is Bretry, I think the number is 1938a similar in design but much smaller. I’d got the little vitreosil shade any way and the two just looked like they would fit together. I’ll add some more pictures showing the components but I’m quite pleased with how it turned out. I did think about incorporating a battery and a small LED but didn’t this time, perhaps if a build another when a pink one turns up. You bet I have, unfortunately it’s a full sized one.
I got you. Although, it is all machined and built from aluminium, brass and stainless apart from the vase and shade, so not quite printed.
Here’s a look beneath the vase. Solid aluminium round for the tank, drilled and threaded at the top. Brass door knob backing for the tank top, the riser is machined from an Anchor lamp control valve, the cock is the gland nut from the anchor along with the control knob being the eccentric that would raise and lower the pricker rod. Base of the vapouriser is the bolt that holds everything together, vapouriser is stainless round bar, pump and pressure tit machined from solid brass. The gallery was the most difficult, I ended up machining it from aluminium and spray painting it gold, I didn’t fancy investing in a piece of brass. All in all a fun little project for a lazy lockdown weekend.
