Mantles

I have been looking for some "modern" mantles to fit our vintage caravan gas lights and wondered if anyone here might help. I have tried the Coleman no21 mantles and they tie around the old mantle ring fine, but they are too large. So am looking for similar closed end mantles, but smaller. Any ideas.

 

Wht not buy the real thing? They are still available. I did a google search for gas mantles and this was first hit http://www.gasmantles.co.uk/

Can you find a Coleman #20? They are smaller and might be the solution.

 

Didnt really want to be paying £107 for a box of mantles.

 

Yes but if they are still being made you must be able to buy singles somewhere. If you do an eBay search for Caravan mantles you will find a selection for around £4 a pop. ::Neil::

 

Or try eBay - I'm not saying these will fit but 10 for £35 seems reasonable enough and will give you a stock for the future...
