Not sure if we can post these non pressure lamp action shots, but thought I'd chance it! I've just got this Aladdin 23, my first, and they are quite fun to operate. It needs a clean up though!
It's working well! The place to post non pressure lamps is in the open forum and perhaps Christer will move it. Carlsson
Cheers, had a wobbly moment with it though. Got some flames coming out of the chimney and blacking on the mantle. I turned it down and all good now!
All Aladdin burners need to be watched and turned down as they heat up, but I have found that the model 23 burner needs to be watched more closely. I prefer the model 14/Super Aladdin burner. If a chimney becomes very blackened then let it cool completely and then use wet newspaper to clean it.
That's true, but they use as much paraffin in an evening as a Tilley does, but they give much less light.
Said and done. Also added the word "mantle" in the title so people understand that the topic isn't about the good old pressure lamp made by AB Aladdin.
