 Surely that needs to be in the 'steampunk, monstrosity, disaster' section...

I’ve seen that pic somewhere too. That lamp wouldn't be allowed into my house, not even into the pighoosie.

Apparently it was being offered on a certain auction site in the US as a Bialaddin....

It certainly has to be the most revolting lamp I’ve ever clapped my eyes on.

If you disregard the colour, it looks to be well made. I wonder what the tank was originally.

I’m wondering if it could be a new creation from the Far East?

My cousin in the US who sent me the pic has sent me a link, but as it’s a live auction I guess I can’t pass the link on.

It’s brand new and made in Korea.

According to the web, 010 is Japans code, but it could be the auction number.

Japan’s International code is +81. I think within a country a lot of places will use 010

I wouldn't worry about posting the link - I don't think anyone here will be coveting that one...

Over £400 including postage!! :D/

I wonder which Bialaddin parts it has? - above the tank it looks mainly Tilley.

Nah, just tell them that rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men... ;)

The base looks like one of the gas lanterns that Tilley made, but with added pressure lamp bits?

Didn't someone say a while ago about a lamp painted shocking pink??

    Looks well made :-)

edit ; Pink Paraffin... i see what you did there ;)

You shall never listen to the big boys. ;)
But in this case it's a "Buy it now" auction, and those are not considered spoiling an auction people might be following, so it's OK to post it.
If it had been a live action with only highest bidding at an end date, the topic would have been removed. It doesn't matter what, or how silly we may think the object is. There may still be a member out there lurking about, for some reason hoping that no-one will spot the auction so he/she can get a fair price.

Wasn't there a Korean web shop selling new made Tilley / Bi Aladdin stuff?
I remember that they had fancy insect screens for on top of the burner and also remarkable coloured Tilley lamp variations.

Btw: shipping costs (100$us) isn't cheap either.

Wim, it's probably the same seller as this one. I recognize some of the other present items from back then.

Yes, South Korean. The seller is gksk2146-3. He has a lot of reproduction parts and some lamps on ebay.

    Oi! Behave, Stevie.

No, Jean. I did not buy a pink lamp. Not my style; not my colour.

But I have bought reproduction parts, and tools. All good quality.

    Cheers

    Tony

Clearly someone deemed this creation market-worthy, as indeed it seems to be well made, and perhaps available in quantity.
The korean Vapalux company did introduce a 320 in similar colours, so pink as a colour seems to resonate, at least in the Far East.

Pink is a highly popular and visible colour in the Far East. I seem to recall having a pink washing machine in a flat in Tokyo.
