@Graham P I’m glad you got it at that auction, and that you’ve placed it here in the Reference Gallery. It’s a great piece of Quirk’s history. I think @Anthony has a Quirk’s tank with the hole in the rim that would take the heater handle. Cheers Tony
Just looking at the filler cap ... Is an external pump required for this? Would it have has an asbestos mantle ? Would it be possible to perhaps have some more pics at all? Some close ups?? ...and what is that under the large black control knob, please?? Many thanks
I do not recall where I came across on These pic's but glad I saved them as they show that these heaters are not a one off home build .
@Graham P I think those photos in the post above are of Albert White’s Quirk’s Heater. @podbros That is a filler cap with a fitting for an external pump. It is a gasoline set up. The above post’s photos show an asbestos mantle. The “thing” under the control knob is a dome nut screwed onto a lug. The handle on the opposite side is fixed to the other lug. All Quirk’s tanks have two lugs similar to the EX100. They are redundant (except for one in the heater set up) as far as we can tell, because we’ve never seen a bail attached a Quirk’s Victory “Goulburn Special”. The same tank is used on the Quirk’s Victory “Goulburn Special” table lamp, lantern, and heater. Quirk’s Victory lamps, lanterns, and heaters are a bit of an enigma.
