The TL has a plated XN control cock and is extremely original. The hospital lamp I acquired a week or two ago was missing the cardboard box containing spare mantles, the Tilley gods must have been watching, one with this haul. The iron has its original spanner unused in its tissue paper. The 169 vapouriser is new and shiny!
Nice haul Stevie, I didn't know they did Irons! Missus just bought a new one from Lidl just while we were out before.....
@Johnny19 Yes, they were made for quite a while. I have another and they do work if you’re careful, just very heavy.. @John Hi John. Yes the TL is so original and in messed with. I’m looking forward to getting it fettled and fired up. This is my first Tilley shade too!
I’m thinking it just needs a pinch of paraffin and meths and it’ll be ready to go; even has the preheater. Please post a picture when you get it burning; I love the glow of the shades.
@John It has a small problem, the nrv cup on the bottom of the control cock is stuck in the stem, so some gentle coaxing before polishing and seals.
Nice one Stevie and what a shade to start off with. Glad I have one like that so I don’t feel too jealous! Is the Tl10 chrome?
@Jean J Yes, it’s a plated TL with I’m guessing original plated pump, gallery and XN control cock. There’s a small chip to the bottom edge of the shade... Stevie
Looks like lady luck is smiling on you mate great haul, things are looking up for you so far this year, who knows you might even find other Kayen lamp the way you are going.
Also that iron sure looks in excellent condition, does it have the instructions as well. I remember my mother using hers and I have it in my collection but no tool or instructions so cool mate.
Nice score mate! I like the orange shade on that table lamp - very stylish. So does this mean you're going to do the ironing at Chez Stevie from now on?
