Hi all - brand new to Tilley lamps, I wanted one for my garden for the summer as a project, I managed to get a couple of x246b’s on eBay with a view of building one from the two but I’ve serviced them both following some excellent advice on here and YouTube and both are working really well ... humbling really ! I’m looking for a reflector, I know there’s no original I can buy and it’s all aftermarket but do we know if the Petromax HK500 reflector fits well? I don’t have access to a lathe or an engineering mate sadly. thanks for looking !
Watch out, two lamps could start breeding, could be a larger collection on the horizon. I don't know about reflectors that might fit but I'm sure other members will soon chip in. Regards Ian
@northwarks This Butterfly reflector rests on the rim of the hood on my X246A, the handle clears the cutouts and it is not going to fall off. I would think that the Petromax reflector should be the same.
@James The correct one looks like this, which sits like this. The reflector shown in the link will sit like this, i.e. like the Butterfly reflector as shown by @John but as John says, "it is not going to fall off." So although not correct, it may be the only option available. The difference

The Tilley reflector from juliands is actually a better fit than the Anchor and Petromax ones. Anchor ones (blue on top, white underneath) sometimes crop up on eBay advertised as Tilley reflectors.

Welcome from Queensland Australia. As stated, 2 are a breeding pair and keeping them apart will not stop them ..... They manage to do it so well that one day, in the near future, you’ll suddenly wake up, usually by your partner’s exclamation, and see a tribe of the little buggers. Enjoy Cheers Pete
