    I recently acquired 3 Coleman lanterns. One 220B and two 220F's (60's or 70's vintage). The 220B has some porcelain damage on the top, the original acorn nut has been replaced by a wing nut, and the globe is a replacement (small red lettering). The bale does not use cotter pins. On the bottom it is stamped with Wichita, Kansas and has a patent date of June 25, 1929. On the left side of the bottom is a "1" and a "2" on the right side. I included pictures to help with the ID.

    Also, on one of the tubes near the mantle seats is another patent date 1919. I'll post more on the 220F's later.

    I looked at a couple of mine of this vintage, a 10-1 and another one 5-2.

    So I'd say your lantern is dated January 1932.

    My 10-1 lantern has the winged fuel cap, but the 5-2 lantern has the ordinary round knurled type.

    Both have their original sandblast logo Pyrex globes, but they are not both the same Logo pattern.

    Great! Thanks burndout! I was sort of on that track, but I'm glad you confirmed it. Now I want to find a video on YouTube that helps me with the teardown. I'd like to clean it up a bit.

    @Eric Koglin

    Does your lantern have the old Coleman Logo with "Quicklight" obliterated from it, on the side of the fount, or is the fount side unmarked??

    Well, the fount only has the Coleman sunburst on it (old logo I guess) with "The sunshine of the night" below the word "Coleman" and "Made in USA" under that. The word Quicklight doesn't appear anywhere. However, on the bottom it says "Instant Lite."

    Here are a couple images of the Original type Quick-Lite fount image found on Quick-Lite lanterns, and the wiped Logo on my 10- 31 228B (Marked on fount Bottom 220B)

    If you look closely, you can still see the edge of the erased Q and the last e on the wiped logo.

    By 5-32, this fount side logo was no longer impressed on the fount side of 220B and 228B lanterns, and the fount bottom stampings were changed as well.
