Every time I tell myself that I have enough to be working on, something else interesting comes along. Fairly common lantern I think, but not too many popping up in Yorkshire that I’ve noticed. The whole lantern is covered in fuel, grass and a good number of spiders but the nickel looks to be in good shape, the hood is in good condition and it has what appears to be the original globe with it, still in tact. It came in the original box too but that has seen it’s share of camping trips. Nice unexpected find for a Monday evening.

It's always hard to say no when a nice find turns up.

The box can be rescued a bit by gluing thin cardboard on the inside with wallpaper paste.

Off she goes, definitely one of the brightest lanterns I own. Easy fettle once I’d got the dirt off, just a new gland packing and cap washer.

It does look very nice in chrome ! - I have a green one, and I have used it often. I am always amazed by the effectiveness of the small spirit cup and can usually only half fill it - never fails to light.
