A few weeks ago I dismantled 3 lamps, a Bialaddin and two Vapalux but like a fool I’ve managed to get the parts mixed up. I think I’ve sorted most out but I have different length pumps here and would appreciate someone letting me know if a fount with the pressure tit should have the long or short pump rod ?
I've looked at my Vapalux and Bialaddin lanterns with and without pressure tit. These images show why some pump rods are longer than others. The short one is on the left.
I have examples of both but I can't guarantee accuracy because they came to me pre-owned, so your guess is as good as mine. I'd say it's more the age of the lantern rather than whether or not it has a pressure tit. Check out the Lamp Reference gallery, you'll see that most (if not all) older Vapalux & Bialaddin lanterns both with and without a pressure tit, have long pump rods like the one on the left in the images I posted. The short pump rods seem to be standard on the later 320s.
