Anyone bid or win anything from the auction yesterday for a couple Coleman collections out of Kansas? I bid and lost big time on three or four lanterns and lamps. A Coleman model R lamp for one, finally towards the end, I won a Coleman 242 I didn't need, then later saw I missed seeing it wasn't the early style of vent that sat on the button at the top instead it had the vent being held in place with a nut. Oh well, not out much money. Catalytic heaters went cheap, other items sold for a good price. I think some things might of been cheaper off of the bay.

I guess it is true, people stuck at home have been saving money.

I bid on 3 things and won 1
The 334 lamp shades would’ve been nice.........
I do wish the auction company would take 2-3 photos of the more desirable GPAs for those of us who don’t travel.
    Anyway here’s my 11-50 lantern...from the website.

I had planned to attend but something came up the morning before. I had interest in a couple of items, one being the only known model no. 118 Lamp with a special factory built “C” fount (not fluted) with built in pump, I yielded to another collector friend whose beautiful lamp collection deserved this addition more than mine.
Another item eyed by me was the white reproduction no. 334 steel shade (these are really heavy weight compared to originals) I decided to keep looking for an original.

I got the call today to get my credit card info from the UPS store for shipping and packing. Ouch! $69 + $15. Lantern wasn't quite that much.

I received my lantern from the auction today......After the auction completed I received a “paid invoice” with instructions to forward the receipt to the UPS store ( link in email ) the UPS store called early next day.
I agree the shipping was a little high but we are paying someone to pack it for us and shipping .........
I hope yours is packed better than mine......I don’t think they appreciate how easily these globes break.

I mentioned UPS gorillas from my order last June when they called today.

Today I received a post card from Ron Stricker thanking me for my participation. Now I am sorry I didn't bid on anything, LOL, though I thought the auction was good and very interesting to view online. In light in the skyrocketing prices for lanterns the collectible items were reasonably priced and some good bargains there to.

I agree, a couple hard to come by lamps went cheap, a few other things like the online auction site went high.
I've been very good this year so far, have only acquired one stove at a campout and the lantern just won will be my second lantern for the year I believe.

My 242A it turns out was the correct model, was very well packed, a large, well bubble wrapped interior, lantern and globe the same. So no wonder shipping was high. Vent is well burned, so need to see if I can acquire a better one. Burner cap is damaged from use, but I have a good one from parts I got a year ago. Something to do besides split and stack firewood.
