    Hi all

Has anyone found a reliable source for replacement guards for the Bialaddin fire bowl lamps? I saw a thread about using wire fruitbowls from Lidl as ersatz guards but these seem to have vanished (not surprisingly, the post was a decade old), does anyone know of a good option these days? Many thanks

No, Lidl still get those Bialaddin guards masquerading as fruit bowls in stock maybe once or twice a year. They're part of one of their weekly offers and, as they say, 'once they're gone, they're gone' - until the next time anyway... :)

Thanks David, I'll have to keep an eye out. "So, how did you spend 2021 then", well, I spent most weeks queued outside Lidl, not for bogroll this time but in a quest to locate a specific wire fruitbowl because some chaps on the internet assure me its the perfect thing to replace the guard on a 70 year old paraffin heater, which works fine without it. Btw, who are these men with the padded van? Lifes a funny old thing ;)

Oh, and its Norman for the win, nicely done mate, nicely done! I'd never in a million years have searched for it as a "safety net", it makes sense in a way as a term but I have never heard them described that way, my google fu is clearly weak. I have stood down the fruitbowl acquisition team, my other half's mood is vastly improved as a result, our weekends are ours again!

Once in a while these Bialaddin safety guards show up in the UK but not very often that’s for sure.
Glad to help out when I can and I hope your other half stays in a good mood.

    Cheers
