Hi all, This is the gasoline gravity fed No.451 "Ornamental One-Light Pendant" lamp, made of the Sun Vapor Stret Light Co. Canton OH, around 1905. The brand "Sun" was a copyright for the Sun Vapor from 1902, so a production of this type of lamps from that year into the 10,s and maybe also the 20,s. Equipped with a 100 CP upright mantle burner, emanating from an old 1889/1991 incandescent burner patent by Harry C. Campbell. In the 1905 Sun Vapor catalogue it is said that the company is a licensee of that original Campbell patent. This lamp needed some burner parts and the gallery with the burner nose gauze and the shade and chimney holder. It also needed a thorough clean up. These type of burners are often good runners and easy to handle. In the lighting try it gave a good performance. /Conny 1889/1891 Campbell patent …. My hat's off to you again, Conny! Beats me how you keep on finding all these obscure lamps and then managing to get them going again...
