Hi: Found 2 of these on a boat I just purchased. Boat built in 1985. Anyone know what fuel these burn?? Parts available?? and instructions for lighting?? Used Coleman lamps for years but have not used this type of igniter before.

Found this site which talks about this model and the directions for lighting--must use Google Translator http://www.scherning.de/lampen/Hipolito_H_202.htm

    those lamps are Petromax clones
so you have to use the same way to light it up

Just to add, this is for kerosene only. As Michel said, lighting instructions are as for a Petromax. I'm pretty sure you can find them on the site, otherwise there will be plenty here that can help.

clone is not the correct word, because hipolito did manufacture these lanterns in portugal on the old maschines of graetz, which have been transferred from altena/germany to torres vedras/portugal, after giving up production in germany in the late 60´s.
