Found this, had to have it. Think there is a leak somewhere because I am pumping and pumping and never reaching the red line. Cannot get the blow torch to light at all. Have managed to light it for a little while using the spirit cup but it promptly goes out as the pressure decreases.

Nice find. A neat looking lantern in good condition.
Is the pump leather well oiled, and pliable ? Given the age of the lantern, there's every chance that the seals have hardened over time and no-longer function correctly. Get what pressure you can into the tank and immerse it in water, bubbles will indicate problem areas though personally, I'd renew all the seals as a matter of course.

Yeah, pump leather is pretty solid struggled to get it back in again. Going to do the seals, once I have tracked down where to get them and what to get.

The seals are the same size irrespective of candle power.
I'm confident that Petromax seals and other parts will be compatible with your Solex.

@frirubett This site will tell you all you need to know. Don't be put-off by the difference in candle power, your lantern works in exactly the same way as this 500 cp model.
Restoration of a PETROMAX 829 Lantern
One thing to watch is the gap between the top of the jet and the bottom of the mixing tube referred to in chapter nine, because your lantern is of lower candle power, the gap needs to be smaller so aim for around 12 / 12.5 mm. to start with. You can use the shank of a drill bit to help you set the gap.

Far-be-it for me to tell you how to spend your money but looking here again, you may find items 66 & 119 very usefull.
