Never had this much muck in a tank before !

I found a small wooden stick in one I fettled. No idea how it could get inside the fount.

 

A stick? Do you think they were trying to check the level and dropped it in?

 

Possible. It was only around 3cm but still.

I clean founts with acetone first, then dishwasher liquid, if necessary I then shake some steel balls inside it. Works ok for me.

 

Cheers @Matti Kucer ! Not sure where the acetone is at the mo and I don’t have a dishwasher so may opt for alternatives, but thanks for the advice

Yes, that does seem a bit short for an improvised dip stick..

There was quite a bit of hair in with it all so perhaps some contaminated fuel on a farm or similar...

 

Found a R1 air tube in a TL fount, at least it was a bit of a Tilley!
