Hello all I found this little beauty, now most of you on the forum here me say I wont polish or respray my lamps, but this time is an exception, I believe this Kayen AP2 is in magnificent condition. This lamp came with everything shade, globe, upper and lower bug catchers, Kayen and Kopsen stickers as well and even a mantle. So this time I will stick to my word no, and I mean no work for this lamp, the shade doesn't even have a chip or anything wrong with it. Here are some photos.
That is an excellent example, complete with shade. Edit: Does the globe have any identification? Does it have a vertical seam in the globe? and is the globe smooth at the bottom, or does it look as though it has been ground on its bottom edge? Cheers Tony @Buggerlugs
@Tony Press Here are some photos there are vertical seams and the bottom is smooth. Why do you ask? Does that help?
@Buggerlugs I’m trying to sort out who made the Kayen globes. The ones with seams are definitely Australian-made. The ones with ground off bases could be from the Leonora glass works in Wallsend, Newcastle (Australia), but that’s pretty speculative at this point. Tony
@Henry Plews and @Nils Stephenson. I'm sure you both have plenty of lamps that would make me a little bit jealous as well.
Another whom is a bit jealous, me being a Kayen fan. A very good original condition lamp and well worth keeping in its orginal condition.
