I posted the 'office' where I keep most of my lantern collection and Pete posted some of his in his living room... which got me thinking, where do folk keep theirs and how are they displayed. Shelves, cabinets, suspended or housed some other way? So, how about it? Anyone want to post photos of their lamps on display? Doesn't have to be all of them.
Hi @ColinG Before my wife passed away recently, she chose the colour of the Evening Star lamp to match the dining room wall. I have just finished its fettle using the her preferred colour. The original nickel plating had been removed by someone in the dim dark past so I wasn’t too concerned painting the fount. It now graces the dining room table. Cheers Pete
@Jean J. thanks mate. The wooden top sits on a cast iron frame, bloody heavy but very stable ... for a table ...... Cheers Pete
Pete you've done a wonderful restoration and what a great tribute to your lovely wife who will continue to shine in the light of her lamp. Cheers, Norman
Sometimes words alone can't convey one's feelings. This is one of those times. What a lovely way to express your feelings.
Thank you all for your lovely words, they mean a lot to me. When I get sad and lonely I light this lamp and reminisce about the good times and how fortunate I am for loving my Wendy and being loved by her. I’m truely blessed. Pete
Amazing collection and well displayed Larry @coleman54. I have to say the placement of the 275 is perfect
Thanks @Toby Garner ///////////::::::::::::........... @Carlsson The 1960 Impala was purchased new by my Grandparents, I remember getting to ride in the back seat the evening they bought it, now has 60,000 miles on it driven on occasion. Larry
Thank you @Jean J , The floor lamp is a Coleman custom I built last year, utilizing a “CQ” fount and a later Roto - Type burner, modern day shade. Larry
Some amazing collections and storage solutions. Mine is very humble in comparison and I am rather envious. I doubt that i'll ever reach the level displayed here, especially with the prices lamps are beginning to trade for in certain places. But I do still have a few lamps and stoves on the wishlist - a Coleman 237 probably on the top of the list. Took delivery of the "Lightning Bug" earlier today.
@revorge That's a nice various collection, and with a Lightning Bug Lamp others will be envious. Matthias
I just knew that Christer would beam into that when I saw the corner fin!! @coleman54 Is that ride height stock????
We had a 1959, Chevy Impala, black and white, four door. Story behind those fins were they had a tendency to “lift” the car off the road at around 60-65 mph! Seemed to hold true for the ‘59! Got the car in 1962, after my father passed away. I kept it until 1963, then I traded it in on a 1964 Dodge. Big mistake, another story!
The car is in original unrestored stock condition, paint, 283 V8, power glide auto, 14 inch wheels and tires, with only exception of the wheel spinner hub covers to suit my taste. Larry
@coleman54 Great memories and good that it gets out and about :-) Hats off to everyone for showing their fab collections Very humbling indeed..
