    Interesting, it says normal to distinguish it doesn’t have a rapid preheater; I’ll have to check mine.

    The rapid version would be model H302 "Automatic". From the style of the script on the label I think this may be an older lantern than most we see and I would like to see an image of the control wheel if possible. Not easy to see in that image but it appears to be black with a green insert. ::Neil::

    The control wheel has a nose. It is a one-piece black control wheel from Hipolito. The light is just reflected a strange way and gives the impression that the control wheel is in two parts. This Hipolito H-301 was manufactured in the second half of the seventies. If you show the 4-digit number on the bottom of the tank, I can specify the age.

    Hello @Reinhard ,
    i have some related questions about the hipolito lanterns.
    In the german Hytta-Forum i read a older post from you, explaining the date-code-system.
    I tried to interprete that for my "Lanterne D206/250V Automatic".
    The code on the tank bottom is "3667".
    So i guess, it is from Week 36 in 1976?
    Also you wrote there, that the orange control wheel was used from 1977 to 1982. Is this still up to date?
    So in the case of may lantern the black control wheel (not orange) is original? (Because often i read the statement of some guys, that it always has to be orange...).
    I would be pleased, if you can clear the situation!
    Regards,
    Steven

    @virgilio
    Thank you very much for the pictures.
    4567 means 45th week 1976.
    Your Hipolito needs a little cleaning. I have the same H-301 NORMAL from 1977.The Hipolito H-301 NORMAL is identical to the last Petromax 826. The Hipolito H-301 NORMAL consists of completely different parts than the older Hipolito 350cp with the 2-part control wheel. Black/red for Hipolito brand and black/green for the German GENIOL brand.

    @Steven67
    You have read the age of your LANTERNE D-206/250V correctly. The LANTERNE Series always had a black control wheel, a blue Rapid and an orange pump button. According to my observations, the orange control wheels existed from 1975 to 1982.Yes Steven I also have to improve sometimes. The orange from 1980-1982 was stronger than the orange from 1975-1979.With the GENIOL Automatic the color was always orange in the beginning, later in the eighties it was always black. Exceptions were THE extremely rare GENIOL NORMAL or GENIOL NORMALE, black/orange like Hipolito H-301 NORMAL. At Hipolito in the beginning 1974 - 1982, the lamps were initially equipped with different colors for the control buttons. After 1982 according to my observations everything was black.

    Hello @Reinhard,
    many thanks for your very detailed description!
    Interesting also for me the information, that the Rapid should be blue. Mine is totally chrome. Probably was replaced by a spare part.
    Regards,
    Steven
