Just got this lantern, it is a maroon color, no markings, about 14" tall, who made this lantern Is is a american gas machine co lantern, made in Albert Lea, MN
Thanks, I don't know much about agm, I mainly have coleman lanterns. Is there a site to find out about this model, I had found some pictures , but could not find a picture of this one? Carol

They’re not a bad lantern if you can see beyond the stress cracks! They resemble a Coleman in a lot of ways, but the stress cracks are not one of the ways. Still, I think they are worth having a few examples laying around!
Yes, I believe it is a AGM, but what is confusing me after looking at the site you sent(Tony), I don't see what looks like mine. Am I missing the chrome that goes around the bottom(from the glass base to the fuel tank)?
@Carol Chisholm I’m not an AGM expert, so I’m not much help. There are a few people here that know AGM, so they might respond. I could be that the collar has been removed at some stage of the lantern’s life. Cheers Tony
Take a look here at the AGM pages for a match. Yes you are missing the collar between the fount and frame. Once you identify the model post a wanted to buy ad in the classified thread at the Coleman Collector's Forum. As noted above AGM lanterns with brass founts were prone to stress cracks in the fount which renders the lantern unusable. Some AGMs had steel founts, not subject to cracks.
