@AussiePete i love your tribute to your soulmate, I like the colour too, I name my lanterns after my friends and family, mostly in heaven, I sit and reminiscing the times together, sometimes it’s a bit too sad for me but makes me appreciate that I have friends and family
Amazing provenance! And a great car. I think the fullsize GM cars from 1959 and 1960 are some of the best there is.
My small collection is scattered around the house at odd shelves and nooks here and there. All are covered with plastic bags to keep the dust away. So, sorry, no photos of shelves with gleaming lanterns.
Mine (not so small - actually rather large!) is / was exactly the same. This was probably the best part of it though:- Not on display - just together for the final time in my ownership...
I am envious of those who are able to actually display their collection. Mine has been forced into the rafters of my garage, a couple of layers deep so hard to even see let alone get to. I'm in the process of moving them into a new workshop I built last year, fettling some of the less common as I go. Hoping the new storage method will at least let me see what's there. I expect as I get to the upper layers of the rafter storage I'll find some things I've forgotten about. Old place New place
It's quite amazing that the market still offers lamps, as you guys obvisiously store them all. @Dieselross Besides the lamps I like the chopping block table Matthias
Moin, @LatMag49 the "table" is a constant reminder not to hang your head. That's why I also put up a sign from an old railroad car. "Do not lean your Head out! Risk of Death"
